Build a chronological timeline for students to visually model the progression of events leading to the American Civil War.

Build a Civil War Timeline Activity

Through this activity, students will organize events occurring during the period of the Industrial Revolution in the United States. Beginning with the initial events and invasions of Hitler’s army, this timeline worksheet takes students through the first declaration of war, Japanese invasions in Indochina, and more…all the way through to Pearl Harbor and the U.S. declaration of war.

This timeline is a perfect activity for students to complete after a lesson on the main events that led to the U.S. entering into World War II. Students will cut apart a series of statements and paste them in chronological order on the WWII timeline diagram.

Students can complete this activity as a summarizing or culminating activity, or use it as a reference in an interactive notebook. You could also display this resource in your classroom for students to reference during your discussions around WWII.
