Community Helper Activities for Primary Learners

Ask your students what they want to be when they grow up, and they will probably say something like “a doctor” or “a teacher.” This discussion card set is perfect for students to learn about the organizations and people that improve our communities daily. Filled with engaging scenarios, students can talk about how these community helpers help others in need.

Discuss these topics and review the jobs that provide goods and services in the community. This resource gives students a set of 16 Community Helper discussion cards and an accompanying writing response worksheet.

Extend Your Community Helpers Lesson Plan

  • Challenge your students to identify a community helper they aspire to be when they grow up and write sentences or make a mini-book about that role.
  • Try out a Community Helpers Craft Activity or Flash Card deck and make something great!
  • Supplement your discussions with one of our Community Helper Worksheets!
