Take your ecosystem lessons deeper with our Comparing Food Chains Worksheet Pack
This printable Comparing Food Chains Worksheet Pack includes three habitat-and-food-chain comparison worksheets, each featuring two different habitats (such as desert and rainforest). Each habitat section includes images of relevant producers and consumers, giving students the visual support they need to build accurate food chains.
Compare and Contrast Animal Habitats and How Energy Flows Through Them
On each worksheet, students will:
- Build a food chain for each habitat using the provided organisms
- Compare and contrast animal habitats by listing similarities and differences between the two ecosystems
- Explain how habitat conditions (temperature, rainfall, sunlight, available resources) influence which organisms can survive
By comparing the two habitats and their food chains, students begin to see how climate and environmental conditions directly influence food chains. They’ll recognize that producers and consumers vary depending on available resources, and that not all animals can survive in every habitat.
