Dressing Up A Sentence Activity

Free | 3 pages (PDF, Word, Google Slides)|Grades: 1 - 5

An activity to encourage students to add more descriptive language into their sentence writing.

Use this teaching resource as a writing center activity or as a guided small group or whole class activity. Students pick a dull, boring sentence from a pack of 60 flash cards. Then they use the ‘Dressing Up a Sentence’ template to guide them in adding to the sentence to make it a ‘wow’ sentence.

For ways to use this resource in the classroom, check out our blog, Expanding Sentences | FREE Resource Download to Improve Writing.

Use the drop-down menu to choose between the PDF, editable Word, or Google Slide version.
