Help your bilingual students express their emotions in Spanish with a classroom poster.

Develop Self-Awareness in English and Spanish

From a young age, children learn and use simple emotional vocabulary to describe how they feel: sad, happy, angry. But do they know how to identify these feelings in the people around them?

Understanding the facial expressions and body cues that tend to accompany each emotional state is a fundamental social-emotional skill. Recognizing emotions in others enables us to empathize with their current plight, then respond accordingly.

Printable English & Spanish Classroom Decor

This pack of printable posters is the perfect tool. It contains an English-to-Spanish classroom poster that can be used to teach students about different emotions and how they are expressed in both languages. The signs are no-prep, easy to use, and fully editable so that you can customize them to fit your needs. They’re perfect for classrooms with English language learners and a focus on multicultural inclusion practices.

The emotions included in this poster set are: happy, sad, angry, proud, scared, calm, nervous, excited, and frustrated.

Build Your Own Dual Language Classroom Display

This poster has been created to support social-emotional learning in your classroom. We have included three versions for different classrooms – English-only, Spanish-only, and one with the English-to-Spanish translation.

Some ways you can use your Bilingual Classroom Posters

  1. Use your printer’s scale function to enlarge the posters and display them in your classroom as a reminder of what each emotional state might look like when experienced by a classmate.
  2. Use the display as a stimulus for a group discussion. Ask the students to explore what situations might make them experience each emotion.
  3. Use the display as a means of checking in with how the students feel when they arrive at school each morning.
