Fact Family Rocket Blast Off - Addition and Subtraction Fill and Sort

A fill and sort activity to demonstrate an understanding of addition and subtraction fact families.

Use this teaching resource when your students are learning about fact families.

Print out a copy of the rocket ships and the number sentence cards for each student. Students are given one of the facts included in 3 fact families. First, they must write the remaining facts for each family on the remaining blank cards. Then, they will cut out the facts and glue them on the appropriate rocket ship.

This activity works well as a culminating activity after learning about fact families.

Use the drop-down menu to choose between the full color, low color, or black and white version.

For your slower students, why not use the version with the number facts already written on the cards:
