Roll Your Way Through Fire Prevention Month!

October is on its way, so it’s time to start prepping for all those upcoming special events and holidays, starting with Fire Prevention Month! Let’s get rolling!

Wait a minute, it’s a whole month? Absolutely! Fire Prevention Month is observed in the United States during the entire month of October. During this month, various activities, events, and campaigns are organized to raise awareness about fire safety and prevention. The goal of Fire Prevention Month is to educate young people about fire risks, promote fire safety, and encourage families to take steps to be prepared in emergency situations.

Print-and-Go Fire Prevention Month Games

This resource download includes two variations of a dice-roll activity designed to have your students role-play and act out appropriate and inappropriate behaviors when dealing with a fire emergency in the home. Some of the role-play options are

  • How do you get out safely and avoid breathing in smoke? Act out the best way you should leave a burning building.
  • Oh No! Your shirt caught on fire! Act out what you should do if your clothes are on fire. Make sure you have enough room.
  • The are correct ways to react to a fire, and there are wrong ways. Act out one of the WRONG ways to react to a fire.
