Let’s Play a Game of Get to Know You Bingo!

Break the ice and build classroom community with this fun and engaging Get to Know You Bingo activity! Perfect for the first week of school, this engaging game gets students talking, laughing, and learning new things about one another as they move around the room to find classmates who match each square. This activity helps your students feel more comfortable in their new environment, and it also sets the tone for a positive and welcoming classroom culture right from day one.

Bring this bingo game to your first week plans and watch friendships start to form, shy students open up, and your classroom community come to life. Print, play, and prepare to kick off the school year with energy and connection—your students will thank you!

With 25 unique Get to Know You bingo boards and 36 calling cards, the possibilities for fun and learning are endless!

How to Play Getting to Know You Bingo

To start the game, simply print out the Getting to Know You Bingo boards and calling cards provided in PDF format. Each of the Get to Know You Bingo Cards has fun prompts designed to spark conversations and help students discover what they have in common. The prompts on each card feature precise, student-friendly phrases and corresponding images, making them easy for even younger learners to understand and match.

To play, students mingle around the classroom, listening as you read each prompt aloud. They are then tasked with asking their classmates questions to see who fits the board prompts. When they find someone who matches a square, that classmate signs or initials the box. The goal is to get five in a row—horizontally, vertically, or diagonally—just like traditional bingo.

As they play this Back to School Bingo Game, they will love uncovering fun facts such as:

  • Who has a sibling

  • Who likes fruits or vegetables

  • Who plays an instrument

  • Who has a pet

  • Who enjoys reading

  • And so much more!
