Each card presents a real-world scenario in which a student makes a mistake while conducting a science experiment. Students are challenged to think critically and predict the potential consequences of the safety error.

Lab Safety Task Cards for 4th – 6th Grade Science

This resource includes:

  • 24 printable task cards, each featuring a short passage describing a student’s mistake in following lab safety rules.
  • Double-sided recording sheets to give students ample space for writing their predictions and reasoning.
    Suggested answers for each scenario, helping you guide discussions and check understanding efficiently.

With this set of task cards, your science students can work independently, in pairs, or in small groups to read each scenario, predict possible outcomes, and write about the consequences of unsafe lab practices.
