🍬 M&M Icebreaker Game for Back to School Fun

Start the school year on a sweet note with this printable M&M icebreaker game! Designed to help students learn more about one another in a fun and colorful way, this activity turns a bag of M&Ms into a meaningful conversation starter. It’s the perfect low-prep, high-engagement activity to ease those first-day jitters and build classroom community.

Each color of M&M corresponds to a unique “get to know you” question—students answer the question that matches the color they pull! This M&M icebreaker game is definitely a ‘sweet’ addition to your first day of school.

🎲 Playing Your M and M Icebreaker Game 

This M and M icebreaker game includes multiple game board versions to suit different grade levels and group sizes. To play this icebreaker game, follow the instructions below:

Teacher Instructions:

  • Print the game boards on cardboard for durability. 
  • Provide students with small packs of M&M’s and a set of manipulatives to cover the questions.

Student Instructions:

  • Pull out an M&M and choose a question from that colour column to answer.  
  • Read the question and share your answer with the group.
  • The game ends when all questions have been answered and covered, or when everyone has run out of candies.
