Whether you’re kicking off a new unit, welcoming new students to the library, or just looking for something fun to introduce reading vocabulary, this reading word search will do the trick!  It aims to highlight how books and reading transport us to new places, introduce us to new ideas and whisk us away on incredible adventures.

Use this reading word search to explore vocabulary related to adventure, books and reading. The download contains two differentiated versions of this word search. The vocabulary included in each version is outlined below:

  • Version 1 (12 words) – book, read, story, setting, fiction, journey, hero, tale, quest, explore, mission, and travel – Words are found forward, backward, and vertically.
  • Version 2 (12 words) – fiction, story, fantasy, mystery, journey, reading, imagine, nonfiction, novel, explore adventure, and books – Words are found forward, backward, vertically, and diagonally.

As this resource contains answers, we recommend printing one copy of the entire file. Remove the answer pages, then proceed with making copies for your students.
