Build Vocabulary with Synonym Reference Charts!

As teachers, we know that most students will need more than just a definition to really understand a synonym. These words are used in writing to avoid repeating the same word repeatedly, making writing less repetitive and more interesting for the reader. Synonyms can also help us find more colorful ways of expressing things by allowing the writer to use a word that’s more to the point. For example, instead of using the word “happy” multiple times in a story, you could use synonyms like “joyful,” “gleeful,” or “ecstatic” to add variety and depth to any piece of writing. This year, help your students build their word banks by displaying synonym anchor charts in your classroom!

Print-and-Go Synonym Charts for the Classroom

This set of twelve print-ready synonym charts is the perfect addition to your classroom decor and teaching toolkit. These charts provide students with commonly overused words, fun illustrations, and multiple examples of synonyms that mean the same as the given word. They are bright, fun, eye-catching, visually appealing, and accessible to students.
