A Printable Soil Book for Kindergarten Students

Are you teaching soil to your Kindergarten students? If so, then we have the perfect age-appropriate resource to teach your students about the ways in which plants, animals and humans are dependent on soil.

This uses of soil mini-book teaches students the following:

  • Soil is used for animal burrows.
  • Soil provides food for trees.
  • Soil provides food for flowers.
  • Soil is mixed with water to make bricks.
  • Soil is used for many things!

The final two pages of the mini-book provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate how well they have grasped the concepts presented. The first activity requires students to color all the things that need soil to grow from a selection of images. The second activity requires students to draw and label a picture of an animal that lives in soil.

This resource is available as a black-and-white PDF or an editable Google Slides file.

Your students can refer to their mini-books as a valuable source of information for the duration of your unit on soil!
