World Changing Women 3D Cube Project

Teach Starter Publishing
Google Slide, PDF | 7 pages | Grades: 2 - 5

Research and record biographical information about 6 historical women and discuss the impacts of their contributions.

Study 6 Famous Women in History for Kids

Use this independent practice activity to support your women in history lessons.

Students will write and illustrate biographical information and the achievements of six world-changing women in history:

♀️ Abigail Adams

♀️ Clara Barton

♀️ Ruby Bridges

♀️ Amelia Earhart

♀️ Irma Rangel

♀️ Sojourner Truth

Once students have finished writing and decorating each profile, they’ll cut and assemble them into a 3D biography cube that creatively displays the impacts these six women made on the world.

In addition to individual student work time, use this biography writing assignment as an activity for:

  • Women’s History Month (March)
  • International Women’s Day (March 8)
  • English Language Arts
  • History
  • Social Studies

Through completing this activity, students demonstrate an ability to write informative/explanatory texts to examine a topic and convey ideas and information clearly.

Students create a 3D cube with the biographies of 6 influential female figures.

✂️ Give Them the (Safety) Scissors

This writing assignment makes for a bonus cutting skills activity, depending on your students’ ages and abilities.

With adult supervision, cutting skills help students work multiple muscle groups and their brains, plus:

  • Strengthen finger and hand muscles
  • Build dexterity and fine motor skills
  • Improve hand-eye coordination
  • Develop focus and attention

And all of these skills are necessary to use a pencil and a fork; button a shirt and tie shoes; write, type and swipe.

Scissor skills are brain and muscle skills!
