Use this interactive slide deck when learning about place values up to 100. The place value concepts included in this activity are

• reading and writing numbers in word, standard and expanded form
• determining the value of a digit within a number
• composing and decomposing numbers
• generating a number greater than or less than a given number
• putting numbers in order
• identifying missing numbers on a number line.

To participate, students choose the correct answer from four options. When they select the incorrect answer, the friendly robot reminds them to try again. When they choose the right answer, the robot encourages them to continue learning.

This resource also makes a fantastic whole-class activity! Give each student a mini whiteboard to write down their answer. Count down from three, then have everyone hold their boards up at the same time. Click on the answer most students chose to see if the class got it right — it’s an engaging, hands-on way to keep everyone involved.
