Inspire Christmas Writing with a Dear Santa Letter Template!

It’s time to prepare for Christmas! Let’s set aside the fruitcake and tinsel, and let’s focus on Santa! We have a fun and easy way to inspire your students to write and dream during this festive season.

Block off one of your writing segments this December and have your students write a letter to Santa using our Dear Santa letter template. The template is designed as a sentence frame that guides students to fill in the blanks with information about themselves, their behavior this year and what they want for Christmas. Finally, they conclude the letter with well wishes and a hearty Merry Christmas to Santa. 

Writing a Dear Santa Letter Makes Writing Fun!

This will be a great way to help students get into the season’s spirit and practice writing letters. It can be used as an alternative activity or something different from what they usually do during writing time.

It makes a great writing center activity in the weeks leading up to the winter holidays.
