Using Our Doubles Facts Subtraction Game

This doubles facts subtraction game is easy to prepare and play. Here’s how!

Prepare:

  1. Download the using doubles to subtract game in the format of your choice.
  2. Print the game board, cards, answer key, game pieces, and number cube. We recommend printing on cardstock for durability and longevity.
Cut apart the cards and game pieces, and assemble the number cube.

Play:

  • Students place game tokens at “Start” and the cards on the “Draw Pile” space. Player 1 rolls the number cube and moves forward the same number of spaces.
  • The player follows the directions on the space.
  • If the player lands on a picture, they will choose a card and solve the equation. A correct answer allows them to stay on the space, while an incorrect answer will send them back to their previous space.
  • Players take turns. The player who gets to the “Finish” space first, wins!
