How to Find the Whole From a Percent

Have your students been practicing how to find the whole from a percent? Are you looking for a fun way to practice this skill in your classroom? Look no further! Teach Starter has developed an “I Have, Who Has?” game for your students to practice finding the whole when given a part and the percent.

Through this activity, students will demonstrate they can solve problems involving finding the whole when given a part and the percent.

How to Use This Card Game in Your Classroom

A team of dedicated, experienced educators created this resource to support your math lessons. The game contains 36 cards, so some students may need to have multiple cards to complete the game.

To play this game:

  1. Distribute one card to each player. Some students may need multiple cards so that all of the cards are used.
  2. Play starts when the student with the first card reads their card. Players listen for the problem that results in an answer on their card.
  3. When a player hears the problem corresponding to their card’s answer, they read their card.
  4. Play continues until the last card is read.

For an extra challenge, see how long it takes your students to complete the game and then have them try to beat their time by playing the game again, but with different cards.
