Creating Perfection with Fingerprint Art and Poems for Grandparents
To create your Grandparents’ Day Poem and Craft, do the following
- Print the copies desired. We have included full-color and black-and-white versions and options for full-and-half-page layouts. Students will need both the poem and the empty sunflower template.
- Have students color the empty flowerpot, stems, flower centers, and the border and lettering on the poem using crayons or colored pencils.
- Provide each student with a small amount of yellow paint. Students will dip their thumbs into the paint and press their thumbprints onto the flower to form a sunflower.
- Allow artwork to dry. If desired, laminate or mount your poem and fingerprint art piece on large construction paper.
