Sequence of Events – Hey Diddle Diddle Nursery Rhyme Retell
Have you ever been in the middle of reading something and realized you had no idea what it was about? Good reading comprehension requires rewording and storing pictures in our memory as we read. We help children to learn this skill by having them retell stories. Story retelling helps early readers by
- Developing Sequence Skills
- Increasing comprehension and understanding of a text,
- Developing memory skills.
This pocket chart retelling activity is a great way to get students to develop their reading comprehension skills. Students will read and retell the Hey Diddle Diddle nursery rhyme with pocket chart cards containing words and images. This activity can be used with preschool and kindergarten students.
Through this activity, students will increase overall reading comprehension and sequencing skills.
