How to Use Making Predictions Graphic Organizers in the Classroom

These flexible templates can be used across whole-class, small group, or independent learning settings. Begin by modelling how to make predictions using a familiar text, thinking aloud as you identify clues from the title, cover, or illustrations.

During reading, pause to encourage students to revisit and adjust their predictions using the organizers. This helps build confidence in revising thinking as new information is introduced.

After reading, guide students to reflect on their predictions, comparing what they thought would happen with what actually occurred. Encourage discussion and sharing to strengthen oral language and comprehension skills.
