Bring word‑building to life with this engaging Four in a Row literacy game. Students use a spinner to generate a prefix or suffix, match it to a base word on the board, and read the new word aloud. With every correct match covered by a counter, players compete to be the first to get four in a row — making affix practice hands‑on, social, and exciting.

This resource includes two game boards, one for prefixes and one for suffixes — plus a spinner featuring commonly taught affixes. Students practice building words using:

• Prefixes: re‑, un‑, im‑, pre‑, mis‑, dis‑
• Suffixes: ‑ed, ‑er, ‑ing, ‑est, ‑ful, ‑ly

Each board is filled with high‑frequency base words such as read, happy, possible, jump, paint, and quick, giving students repeated opportunities to decode, blend, and apply affixes in meaningful ways.
