Question-Answer Relationship (QAR) Bookmarks
A bookmark highlighting the different strategies involved with the QAR comprehension strategy.
Provide this teaching resource when learning about the question-answer relationship (QAR) strategy and how to apply it to comprehension.
The bookmark provides information about the different strategies including:
- Right There – The answer is right there in the text.
– Look for key words - Think and Search – The answer is in the text but you may have to search for it.
– Look for different language
– Look in different sentences and paragraphs - Author and Me – The answer is not in the text.
– Use your own knowledge
– Use information from the text - On My Own – The answer is not in the text.
– Use your own knowledge
– Think about what you have read before
There are 2 bookmarks per page. Print out the bookmark and then cut down the middle line. Fold the remaining paper in half to make a double-sided bookmark showing all 4 strategies – 2 on one side and 2 on the other.
