Explore how to use the senses safety in the science lab with an engaging Science Superhero Lab Safety Game.
Science Lab Safety Made Simple for K–2 Students
Introduce essential science lab safety skills in a way young learners can actually understand with this self-checking interactive Science Lab Safety Game. Designed for kindergarten through second grade, this resource uses fun graphics and short, kid-friendly scenarios to help students practice determining whether a student is being safe or unsafe during a science investigation.
The main focus? Keeping our five senses safe while working scientifically, especially learning that we never use our sense of taste in science.
Lab Safety Scenarios for Little Learners
In this interactive game, students are helping Dr. Shero develop a new formula to get rid of all of the supervillians all at once! To play, students will listen to a short scenario describing a child during a science activity. Students then decide whether the behavior shown is safe or unsafe. The activity is self-checking, making it perfect for a whole-group gaming session on an interactive whiteboard.
Students learn to:
- Identify safe and unsafe science behaviors
- Understand how to protect their eyes, ears, nose, skin, and mouth
- Recognize that tasting substances is never allowed in science
- Build early scientific responsibility and awareness
