Seek Out Those Words With Silent Letters!

There are so many concepts for our littlest learners to master when it comes to reading and writing words. There are vowels, consonants, digraphs, trigraphs, blends, diphthongs… no wonder our little ones become overwhelmed when we throw silent letters into the mix!

This hands-on literacy game has been designed to teach your students about silent letters in a fun and collaborative way. Use the resource as a pair, small group, or whole class activity… the choice is yours!

Differentiated Phonics Games for Kids

This phonics game contains two differentiated versions of Bingo, each with its own set of calling cards.

  • Set 1 contains 16 game boards with 24 words per card (and one FREE space, which can be used at any time to form a line).
  • Set 2 contains 10 game boards with 16 words per card.

Students must form a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal row to proclaim a Bingo!

Give Set 1 cards to students who are capable of a greater challenge. Call on students to use the word in a sentence while playing the game, or perhaps to provide a definition of the word.

Give Set 2 cards to students who would benefit from having fewer words on their game board. When playing, break the words on the calling cards into their phonemes to assist students with identifying the word on their game board.

  • Silent W Words like “wrap”
  • Silent G Words like “sign”
  • Silent K words like “knot”
  • Silent N words like “Autumn”
  • Silent T Words like “listen”
  • Silent H Words like “hour”
