📖Prevent Summer Slide with a Reading Challenge

📘Our printable elementary Summer Reading Challenge gives you 25 different prompts to inspire children to read new books. From fantasy to classic literature, short stories to series books, graphic novels to chapter books, there’s plenty for everyone!

📙This print-and-go resource makes an excellent addition to those summer review packets that you send home every year. Staple this one right on top and challenge your students to read, read, read!

Tips for Differentiation

A team of dedicated, experienced educators created this resource to support your reading curriculum.

If you have a mixture of above and below-level learners, check out these suggestions for keeping students on track with the concepts:

🆘 Support Struggling Students

  • Rather than having students complete the entire reading grid, turn it into a Summer Reading Bingo Challenge! Encourage students to earn a BINGO by completing five tasks in a row.

➕ Challenge Fast Finishers

  • Encourage fast finishers and avid readers to expand their reading challenge by reading more than one of each book type. You could also set a page minimum for those students as well.
