A class poster for students to use to brainstorm strategies on how to harness their emotions in the classroom.

This teaching resource is designed to help the teacher discuss with the classroom different emotions you may feel in your day in school and the strategies you can use to help you overcome difficult emotions in a productive way. Print this poster to a large size and create coping strategies that work right for your classroom environment and school rules.

Strategies could include:

  • get a drink of water
  • go for a walk or errand
  • put on noise cancelling headphones
  • take a deep breath
  • get out of your seat and have a big stretch

Alternatively, if you need to focus on only a small number of students, you can alternatively use the desk mats version and the silent desk indicator to use behaviour strategies in a more discreet way.
