Understanding Morning, Afternoon, and Evening

Learning the concepts of time is an essential skill for young students as it helps them plan their day and understand daily routines. However, abstract concepts like the time of day can be difficult for primary students to comprehend. That’s why we have created fun and engaging printable resources that make learning about morning, afternoon, and evening easy and enjoyable for kids.

What Happens in the Morning, Afternoon & Evening Sort

This printable sorting center is designed to help students learn about morning, afternoon, and evening in an age-appropriate way. This activity encourages students to identify activities at different times of day by sorting them into three categories – morning, afternoon, and evening.

We’ve included 36 picture and word cards for students to sort, two different sorting mats and an answer key to check their work.

NOTE: Students may disagree regarding some of the events on the sorting cards. Some may participate in activities at different times of the day. This is the perfect opportunity to spark a classroom discussion!

Drop Those Time of Day Worksheets! Try a Maths Sort Instead!
