Animal Poetry Prompts Task Cards
A set of 12 poetry prompts for younger students.
Use these task cards to prompt early years students to write simple poems about animals. Students can write any type of poem, although some simple rhyming suggestions have been provided.
Display Teach Starter’s Rhyming Poems Poster, Alliteration Poster and Acrostic Poems Poster to provide examples or inspire ideas.
Teachers are advised to allocate these task cards based on the individual learning needs and backgrounds of their students.
Students can use the My Poem – Worksheet to help scaffold or record their poems.
