Explore physical changes and scientific predictions with a set of Changes I Can See Worksheets for Years 1-3.
Changes I Can See – Making Predictions Activity Sheets for Science
Help young scientists build essential inquiry skills with this set of printable science prediction worksheets designed for students in Years 1-3. Using familiar objects and features from the environment, students explore the concept of observable change over time by making thoughtful predictions and supporting them with visual evidence.
Our Changes I Can See Making Predictions Activity Sheets resource pack encourages students to slow down, think critically, and make predictions about how different objects and environmental features might change over a day versus a week.
Differentiated for Years 1–3
These differentiated worksheets are intentionally structured to support a range of learners. They are marked using a star system, with the number of stars representing the recommended grade level. On each double-sided worksheet, students will:
- Observe objects and features in a local environment
- Predict whether each feature will change after one day.
- Predict whether it will change after one week.
- Draw what they think the feature will look like in one week’s time.
By comparing short-term and long-term predictions, students begin to make meaningful connections between observable features and expected changes, thereby strengthening both their reasoning and observational skills.
