Contractions Concertina Activity
A fun, visual activity to use when learning about grammar and contractions.
This resource would be great to use in a small group when learning about contractions and how they are made by using apostrophes, shortening and combining two words.
To make this resource, select and download the school font required (colour or black and white) for your class. Print and cut out the strips onto card or thick paper. Students are then required to fold along the dotted line to create a concertina effect. They can then fold and unfold the concertina to explore how to shorten and combine two words.
Use the blank strips to make concertina strips for any other contractions that they know.
