Karate Kick Those Letters to Create Contractions

Here are a list of easy activity ideas to help your students practise their knowledge of contractions:

• Contraction Bingo: Call out the full words, and kids mark the corresponding contractions on their cards.
• Contraction Puzzles: Write contractions on one set of puzzle pieces and the corresponding full words on another set. Kids match the contractions with their full-word counterparts to complete the puzzles.
• Contraction Relay Race: Divide kids into teams and create a relay race where they have to run to a board, find a word, and write its contraction before running back and tagging the next team member.
