A fun board game that helps students practise counting 1–10, with separate 1–5 and 6–10 sets for easy differentiation.
Use One-to-One Correspondence Skills with this Number Sorting Activity
Can your students count to 10? Strengthen one-to-one correspondence skills with this number sorting activity.
To play, each player chooses a game piece and places it on start. Player 1 takes the top card from the deck, counts the objects, and moves their game piece to the first number that matches their card. The game continues until each player draws a card that matches the last space on the game board.
Through this activity, students will show they can use one-to-one correspondence and count up to 10 objects.
Tips for Differentiation + Scaffolding
To support differentiated learning, this number sorting activity is divided into two sets: numbers 1–5 and 6–10. Teachers can choose to focus on just one range of numbers or use both sets to help students confidently master counting from 1–10. Through this activity, students will demonstrate one-to-one correspondence and accurately count numbers 1 to 10.
