Let’s Locate Decimals on a Number Line!

Understanding decimals and their placement on a number line is a crucial skill for students in their mathematical development. Not only does it help them comprehend the concept of fractions and percentages, and lays the foundation for more advanced maths topics like algebra and calculus. Identifying decimals on a number line is a key aspect of this skill, as it helps students visualise and conceptualise the relationships between numbers clearly and tangibly.

Identify and Match Decimal Representations

This matching activity is designed for students to practice identifying decimals on a number line. Each decimal card has a corresponding number line diagram for students to locate and match with. There are 36 matching cards (18 pairs) for students to use to develop this critical skill.
