Sort Examples of Thermal Conductors and Insulators
Students will use the printable task cards to explore real-world examples of materials and objects. To play:
- Choose a card and examine the object or material shown on it.
- Decide whether the item is likely a conductor of heat or an insulator of heat.
- Sort the card into the correct group based on how the material interacts with thermal energy.
As students work through the 24 cards, they practise applying their knowledge of heat transfer and material properties while discussing and explaining their thinking. This activity is perfect for science stations, small-group work, or whole-class review.
