Practise telling time to the minute with an exciting game of Telling Time Kaboom!
💥 Get Ready for Telling the Time Games!
Are you looking for a fun way for your students to practise telling time to the minute? We created this Time to the Minute Kaboom! Game for your students to practise their time-telling skills while having some friendly competition.
How To Play Your Telling Time Game
To play, students will take turns drawing a card from the pile and reading the clock on the card. If they can read the clock correctly, they get to keep the card. If the student misreads the clock, it goes to the bottom of the stack. When a student draws a Kaboom card, all of the student’s earned cards go back into the pile. The Kaboom card is set to the side. Play continues until all of the question cards have been answered.
Through this activity, students will show that they can read analogue clocks to the nearest minute.

🛴 Scoot Activity
Arrange the cards around the room in ascending numerical order and provide each student with a recording sheet. Assign each student or pair to a starting point card. Allow students to review the card and note their responses in the corresponding space on their paper. Instruct students to rotate to the next card when you say “SCOOT!”. Continue with this process until all students return to their starting point.
🏃 Relay Race
To play this game, you need to divide students into two teams and create two lines. Next, show a flashcard to the students at the front of each line. The student who produces the correct time first wins the flashcard. Keep repeating this process until all the flashcards have been won. At the end of the game, the team with the most flashcards wins!
💃 Mirror Game🕺
This activity is best suited for small groups, as you will need enough dry erase boards and markers for each student. Divide your class into two groups, seated in two lines facing each other. Project a task card and give students time to record their answers on their boards. On your cue, the students will turn their boards around so their partner can see their answers. If both students in a pair have the correct answer, they will get two points. The team will get one point if only one student has the correct answer.
