Fun Maths Activities for Little Learners!

It’s a new year so that means it’s time to freshen up your collection of maths groups with some hands-on activities for early years learners.  Take time to switch up your classroom maths stations with Teach Starter! We’ve put together the perfect resource for those little learners who are working on learning to count and recognise numbers.

This set of task cards will provide them with hands-on, interactive practise counting objects up to twenty and identifying amounts using a ten frame.

Prep, Print and Use our Ten Frame Printable Task Cards

A little prep is needed before handing out this activity to your students. We recommend printing on thick card and placing the individual cards in sheet protectors so that students can write and wipe answers as they complete the task cards. To use,

  1. Provide each student with a printable recording sheet and a dry-erase marker.
  2. Students will choose a task card, complete it and write the answer on the card with the marker.
  3. Once they’ve determined the amount, they will write their findings on their task card recording sheet.

This resource is available in multiple formats to meet your needs. Colour, black and white, PDF and editable Google Slides have all been provided for you to choose from.
