Use these Text Purpose Mazes to guide students through fun, colour‑coded pathways where they read short text titles and decide whether each one aims to inform, to entertain or to persuade.
Text Purpose Maze Activity
Text Purpose Maze is a comprehensive set of early‑years worksheets designed to help students confidently identify the purpose of different texts. Across multiple maze‑style pages, children read short titles such as Keeping Our Planet Clean, Silly Tongue Twisters, How to Plant Sunflowers, and Charlotte’s Web and decide whether each one aims to inform, to entertain, or to persuade. The worksheets guide students to colour each text according to its purpose “Use the colour code to colour each text correctly.”
This repeated practice builds strong comprehension foundations in a playful, hands‑on way and supports key literacy outcomes aligned with early‑years curriculum expectations.
