Word Family Sorting Activity – Set 1

PDF | 8 pages|Grade: F

A sorting activity to practise identifying word families.

Use this resource when teaching word families or rhyming words with your students.

Print out the resource on thick card for added durability. Cut out the word cards and the sound charts and store them in a resealable bag to be used again and again.

Students sort the words by their word families and place them on the correct sound chart. This is a great resource to use as a reading groups activity.

The word families in this set include:

  • -at
  • -ar
  • -op
  • -og
  • -in
  • -ug
  • -ip
  • -ed

There are four words for each word family. An answer key is included in the download.
