Decorate 100th Day of School Hats or Crowns

The 100th Day of School is a dress-up day in schools all around the country with many kids dressing up as if they’re 100 years old. Why not add an extra bit of dress-up fun with this printable 100 Days Smarter hat (or maybe you call it a crown?) that students can wear home to show off their super smarts?

Available as a printable PDF with the words “100 Days Smarter” on the front, our teacher-created craft template has a simple band style that can be wrapped around the students’ head and stapled together. The hat/crown template is designed in black and white so students can color it in, glue on glitter, pile on the stickers and other craft materials and plenty more.

You may want to have students add 100 of a particular item to their crown to keep the 100 days theme going.

How to Make Your 100th Day of School Hats

This 100th Day of School Hat download is available as part of any Teach Starter Plus subscription. Here’s how to make the hat with your template!

Materials

  • Teach Starter 100 Days Smarter Template
  • Thick cardstock (this makes the most durable hat!)
  • Scissors
  • Stapler or tape
  • Craft decorations (stickers, glitter, coloring supplies, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Print a copy of the 100th Day of School hat/crown template for each student. For the most durable paper hats or crowns, we suggest using a thick cardstock that can hold the shape of the crown.
  2. Depending on the age of your students, you may need to cut out the crowns, or students may be able to practice scissor skills by neatly following the lines.
  3. Direct students to decorate their hats using the available craft materials. Encourage creativity!
  4. Once they’re done decorating and any glue is dry, shape the hat around each student’s head in a circle and use the stapler or tape to secure the ends.
