Are your students needing more practice putting a series of words in alphabetical order? Students will read a set of 8 words and place them in alphabetical order. This set specifically focuses on alphabetizing to the first and second letters.

Print out the task cards on cardstock and cut along the dotted lines. Store in a resealable bag to be used again and again. To save on paper, place the recording sheet in a dry-erase sleeve and have your students use a dry-erase marker and wipe clean when done. Or, have them record their answers in their reading journal!

This resource is great practice to use as a reading center activity! Or, as an alternative, pair students up and use it as a scoot activity. Place the cards around the room and have your student pairs rotate through the cards, writing their answers on the recording sheet.
