Using Our Counting On Addition Game

Preparing and playing this counting on addition game is easy. Here’s how!

Preparation:

  1. Download the counting on game in your preferred file format.
  2. Print the game board, playing cards, answer key, game tokens, and number cube. For best results, use cardstock to enhance durability.
  3. Cut out the cards and game pieces, then assemble the number cube.

Game Instructions:

  1. Each player places their token on the “Start” space. Shuffle the cards and place them on the “Draw Pile” area.
  2. Player 1 rolls the number cube and advances their token by the number shown.
  3. The player follows the instructions on the space where the token lands.
  4. If the space has a picture, the player draws a card and solves the math problem using the “counting on” strategy. A correct answer means they stay on the space; an incorrect answer sends them back to where they were.
  5. Players take turns. The first player to reach the “Finish” space wins the game!
