Explore Other Cultures Through Food

Use this teaching resource to encourage your students to reflect upon multiculturalism in society.

The foods we eat reflect our cultural diversity. Discuss with students the role food plays in making people feel connected and that they belong.

This game is played in the same way as traditional memory games and is suitable for up to three players. There are two versions of the PowerPoint – Upper Grades and Lower Grades. Each could be with any age group, but the Upper Grades version has lesser-known foods. The PowerPoints include foods from Italy, Germany, Mexico, Japan, France, Greece, Asia, Vietnam, Turkey, India, and Spain.

To activate the interactive functions on this PowerPoint, ensure that you have ‘enabled editing’ and are viewing the PowerPoint as a “slideshow.”

Hi, This is a really useful ppt and game. Could you also link to some instructions for how to change the images - handle the animation? I would love to learn to make my own version using yours as a sort of template.
