Foster Creative Thinking with Winter Logic Puzzles
Don’t let your students’ brains freeze over this winter! Keep them functioning smoothly during the colder months with this set of three winter logic puzzles. Each puzzle presents a winter-themed scenario that students must solve using the clues provided.
Here are the puzzles you students will grapple with:
- Mountain Lodge – It’s a snowy weekend at Pinepeak Mountain Lodge, and eight friends have come to enjoy winter activities. Each friend has a different first name, a different last name, and chose a different activity to do while at the lodge. Use the clues to work out which first name goes with which last name and activity.
- Holiday Treats – It’s a busy holiday baking day at the Maplewood Community Center, and eight friends have come to share their favorite sweet treats. Each friend brought a different treat, has a different first name, and made a different amount (in dozens). Use the clues to work out which first name goes with which sweet treat and how many dozens each person made.
- Winter Sports – It’s the day of the annual Winter Games at Frost Valley Park, and eight friends are ready to compete! Each friend has a different first name, is playing a different winter sport, and belongs to a different team. Use the clues to work out which first name goes with which sport and team name.
As students work through the puzzles, they’ll practice skills such as inference, sequencing, elimination and critical thinking in an enjoyable, hands-on manner.
