Looking for New Year’s Activities?

Are you looking for New Year worksheets and classroom activities? If so, you’re in the right place! We have created an excellent New Year’s Day activity book for first-grade and kindergarten students. Use this mini-book for an interactive read-aloud in the weeks surrounding January 1st.

Through this group reading activity, students will identify high-frequency sight words and use context clues and images to determine the meaning of unknown words or phrases. They will complete sentences about the New Year holiday while learning about the cultural celebration.

Among the many benefits of using printable books, students will develop their language, expand their vocabulary, and strengthen their ability to use context clues to determine meaning from a text.

Alternative Uses For a Printable New Year Activity Book

We created this resource for circle time and reading lessons. In addition, we suggest these alternative uses to reinforce reading skills and new vocabulary words with your small group and full-class lessons:

  • Print on cardstock and assemble a small set of books for a reading center activity where students read the books to each other as partners.
  • Complete a booklet, print a copy for each student, and send them home as homework activities.
