What is Patriot Day? Patriot Day is a day of remembrance set aside to honor the lives lost on September 11th. While your kindergarten and 1st grade students may not have a full understanding of this day, they will learn about the importance of showing their American pride and thanking different community heroes.

With this resource, students will learn when this holiday is celebrated, why it is celebrated, and how they can show their American pride.

Through this activity, students will understand that holidays are celebrations of special events. Students will be able to explain the importance of Patriot Day  and why it is celebrated.
