This St. Patrick’s Day Vocabulary word wall provides a fun, interactive way to help young students understand holidays as celebrations. The set contains 44 vocabulary word cards that students use to identify symbols and ideas related to St. Patrick’s Day. Students can refer to the vocabulary cards while working in writing groups.

Display the vocabulary cards on the board or in a pocket chart and discuss them with your students. Once they are familiar with the history and folklore behind St. Patrick’s Day and the terms used, you can give them a simple writing prompt and set them off to write using their new words.
