A fun, hands-on activity to practice syllable recognition.
Use this teaching resource in the classroom when teaching syllables in spoken words.
- Print this resource on cardstock to ensure durability.
- Cut along the dotted lines to create small activity cards.
- Provide your students with the cards and a bucket of clothespins.
- Students are to sound out each word, then clap to determine the number of syllables. When they have it, they clip a clothespin on the correct number. It’s a fun way to work on those fine motor skills while we are at it!
