Gobble Up Some Fun Thanksgiving Math Activities for Kids! 

We are thrilled to present our “Thanksgiving Place Value Task Cards for 2nd Grade” – a collection of printable 2nd grade place value task cards that will make math fun and engaging during the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving for your students. These tasks have been designed to assist your amazing second-graders in practicing their skills with various 2nd grade Number and Place Value standards.

Comprehensive Thanksgiving Math Activities for 2nd Graders

This printable resource pack contains a set of 24 task cards with questions pertaining to a variety of second-grade place value concepts. This set of cards includes the following concepts relative to 2nd Grade Math Standards.

  • Writing standard form numbers in expanded form (up to 1,200)
  • Writing standard form numbers in word form (up to (1,200)
  • Comparing numbers using >, <, and = (up to 1,200)
  • Comparing and ordering numbers using place value strategies (up to 1,200)
  • Comparing numbers in word form using >, <, and = (up to 1,200)

Use these task cards in an exciting game of Thanksgiving Math Scoot! To play, place the cards around the room. Assign students to a starting card and provide an allotted amount of time for students to read the question. Students will write the answer for each question on the recording sheet in the matching numbered box. Use a signal or call out, “Scoot!” to motion students to rotate. Students will move in numerical order. Play continues until students return to their first card.
