## Interactive Fun – Unit Fractions Task Cards

Step into the world of fractions with our innovative Google Slides (or PowerPoint) Interactive Task Cards. Each card presents a unique scenario or problem involving unit fractions, challenging students to apply their knowledge and critical thinking skills to solve them. Students will be asked to identify what fraction is shown in a number of different shapes. If they get it correct they’ll go on to the next question, if they don’t they’ll be guided to try again.

By getting students to identify the different unit fractions in these interactive task cards, students are enhancing their visual representation skills and deepening their conceptual understanding of fractions as parts of a whole. This activity promotes critical thinking as students analyze shapes to determine fractional parts, fostering problem-solving abilities.

## How to Use Interactive Task Cards in the Classroom

Incorporating interactive task cards in the classroom, particularly those in Google Slides or PowerPoint, can significantly enhance the learning experience. To utilize these cards effectively, begin by introducing the concept and purpose of the task cards to the students. Then, provide clear instructions on how to access and navigate the Slides presentation. Encourage students to work individually or in pairs, allowing them to engage with the interactive elements at their own pace.

You may like to also use these task cards as math warm up activities – having students complete a task card at a time with the class.
